What to Expect During Your First Visit?
Our visit includes a thorough consultation and medical history review, followed by a treatment tailored to your specific needs. We may incorporate one or more of the following Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities:
Acupuncture (for energy flow and healing)
Herbal Therapy (customized herbal formulas)
Nutritional Counseling (guidance on diet to support healing)
Tui Na Medical Massage (for pain relief and circulation)
Cupping (for muscle tension and detoxification)
Gua Sha (for lymphatic drainage and relaxation)
Moxibustion (for warming and strengthening your Qi)
This first visit is one of the most comprehensive treatments you’ll receive with me—it’s the foundation for your healing journey. Think of it as setting the stage for balance and wellness to unfold
How should I prepare before my treatment?
Eat something light before your session. Dress Comfortably. There’s a lot of powerful energy movement during treatment, and we want to support your body in that process.
What Does Acupuncture Feel Like?
Every body is different, but most people are surprised at how gentle and relaxing acupuncture feels.
When the hair-thin needles are inserted, you might feel a tiny pinch or nothing at all. Once the needle is in place, people often describe sensations like:
A dull ache or heaviness around the point
A gentle tingling or buzzing feeling
A subtle sense of warmth or spreading energy
A wave of relaxation or even a meditative, floaty state
These sensations are totally normal—and often a good sign that your body is responding and energy (or “qi”) is moving. Many patients actually fall asleep during their sessions!
Acupuncture is not meant to be painful. If anything feels sharp or uncomfortable, I’ll adjust it right away. My goal is always to create a safe, calm, and supportive space for your healing.
